Commercial Construction Laborer

Kelley Construction is a multi-faceted commercial and industrial general contractor licensed to perform work in many states across the United States. We offer technical expertise in commercial construction including restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast food chains, large design-build expansions, and general office renovation. We also have broad experience in industrial construction, from liquid storage and containment and petroleum-related construction to pre-engineered metal buildings and concrete construction.

About the role

Under direction of a supervisory official, performs varied types of manual and unskilled laboring work and may drive a truck in connection with laboring work on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Load, lift, and move supplies, furniture, and equipment
• Dig trenches and do manual grading
• Collect rubbish and other refuse
• Load and unload trucks
• Shovel; mix cement and mortar
• Place and strip forms used in concrete work
• Perform cold patching
• Sweep; pry and hammer apart sections of wall and roof
• Load debris into truck for removal
• Sort, pile, and clean salvageable brick, stone, lumber, and metal work
• Occasionally drive trucks
• Perform any and all other related duties assigned from time to time by supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to perform manual tasks either alone or as a member of a group
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for prolonged periods
• Ability to follow prescribed procedures and ensure safety practices are followed on job sites
• Valid driver’s license required

Working conditions

• Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 90 pounds
• Climb and work from ladders
• Bend, stoop, work around moving machinery
• Work around wood dust and fumes
• Work in inclement weather conditions
• May travel and be away from home for several days at a time

$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
