We offer a wealth of technical expertise in all areas of commercial construction including: restaurants, medical facilities, warehousing, fast food chains, large design-build expansions and general office renovation. We also have broad experience in industrial construction, from liquid storage and containment and petroleum related construction to pre-engineered metal buildings and concrete construction.

Position Summary

To perform rough and finish carpentry in the alteration and construction of buildings and specialty wood items; perform related work.

Job Duties

  • Perform rough and finish carpentry work typical to commercial and industrial construction related to building additions and remodels, cabinets.
  • Build and patch roofs.
  • Install floor and wall coverings, ceiling material, paneling, plastic laminates, and hardware.
  • Hang and finish drywall and finish walls with wood, structural metal, repair/replace railings, handrails, stair treads.
  • Build platforms, partitions, ramps, and fences.
  • Read plans, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excavate, build, and strip forms, tie rebar, pour and finish concrete.
  • Install insulation and weather stripping.
  • Maintain and repair machinery, tools, and equipment used in the carpentry trade.
  • Clean respective work areas.
  • Serve as backup in the areas of paint, stain, and restore items as required.
  • Train others in carpentry work.
  • Assist other maintenance and crafts staff performing their duties.
  • All other duties that assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of performing rough and finish carpentry.
  • Must have the ability to perform new and remodel concrete and wood construction.
  • Will be required to use and maintain the tools and equipment associated with carpentry work; insuring safety practices are followed on job sites.
  • Responsible for estimating time and materials needed for carpentry related job.
  • Required to visualize: sketching and designing wood projects.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Individual must be flexible and able to travel away from home for several days at a time.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb and work from heights.
  • Individual must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Will be required to work around wood dust and fumes.

Schedule & Travel

This is a Full-Time position, 1st Shift. Travel is required occasionally.

This job reports to the Superintendent.
