About the Role

Impact Claim Services is seeking an experienced industry professional to join a stable, rapidly growing company with significant growth opportunities. The Commercial Claims Manager will collaborate closely with the company President to develop, grow, and manage the claims department. This role is pivotal to the company’s expansion and is designed to lead to an executive-level position.

Responsibilities

  • Work in tandem with the company President to develop and execute a claims settlement strategy and plan on a claim-by-claim basis.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to investigate insurance claims and facilitate claims handling activities, including documenting and presenting claims to insurance companies.
  • Examine claim forms, policies, and other records to determine insurance coverage.
  • Prepare accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters to insurance carriers, including complex and highly detailed claims, with conclusions and recommendations.
  • Implement workflow planning, proactively identify and resolve issues impacting workflow, customer service, and fulfillment of claims policy and procedural requirements.
  • Use in-depth knowledge of property construction and/or the specific industry or business affected to conduct property inspections and manage diverse teams of experts.
  • Obtain necessary information from the Insured and experts (e.g., architects, engineers, builders, police officers, healthcare practitioners, accountants) to accurately assess the extent of loss.
  • Work cooperatively with expert witnesses, attorneys, public adjusters, and carrier’s examiners to conduct investigations, confirm findings, and support evaluations.
  • Determine when additional in-house or outside expert assistance is required using experience and judgment.
  • Interpret policies and other written technical information.
  • Utilize property estimating software such as Xactimate.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in Commercial Property Claims Adjusting and Claims Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Two of the following designations: CPCU, PCLS/PCLA, SPPA, AIC.
  • Commercial construction experience preferred; knowledge of commercial general construction is required.
  • Advanced computer skills in Mac platform (word processing, spreadsheets, email); the office is Apple/Mac dependent.
  • Excellent writing capabilities (typing, grammar, and punctuation skills).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and a sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and adaptable.
  • Understanding of claims adjudication processes, property claim law, and jurisdictional issues.
  • Strong research, investigative, negotiating, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Trustworthiness, integrity, and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Keen service orientation and ability to respond to varying client needs.
  • Strong working knowledge of property estimating software such as Xactimate.
  • Must have or be able to promptly obtain a Public Adjusters License and Colorado Surety bond.
