Commercial Café Cook/ Supervisor (UHI North, West and Hebrides)

Education UHI North, West and Hebrides is one of ten academic partners and research centres that make up UHI. This unique partnership allows us to deliver further and higher education programmes at our 19 campuses and centres across the North and West Highlands, Skye and the Outer Hebrides.

About the role

We are seeking a Café Cook/Supervisor to be based at our Thurso Campus. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of cost-efficient, good-quality catering for College students, staff, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Order stock and ingredients while ensuring cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory requirements for food operations.
• Line manage and supervise a team of Café Assistants to deliver a professional service.

Requirements

• Industry-related qualifications and experience working in a kitchen environment.
• Highly organised with excellent communication skills.
• Supervisory experience is preferred.
• Experience in budget management would be advantageous.
• A level of Gaelic ability would be advantageous.

Pay

£30,177 per annum, pro rata.

Schedule

• 30 hours per week.
• Term-time contract hours between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM.
• Permanent position.
