About the role
As a Commercial Business Banking Team Lead at California Bank & Trust, you will lead and develop a team of business bankers/relationship managers, drive new business growth, oversee a commercial loan portfolio, ensure sound credit practices, and build strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Supervises a team of commercial business bankers on a portfolio of business banking accounts.
- Provides subordinate officers with functional guidance.
- Generates and services a wide variety of business loans and portfolios.
- Aggresively seeks and obtains quality new business through client and prospect calls, referrals, and cross-selling efforts.
- Interviews applicants for perspective loans, loan structuring, credit analysis, and monitoring credit performance.
- Builds and maintains relationships, with a resulting high degree of customer satisfaction.
- May have authority concerning staffing, performance evaluations, promotions, salary recommendation, and terminations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in finance, banking, or a related field and 10+ years of business banking, credit, or banking or other directly related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.
- Expert knowledge of credit associated lending, financial strategy, and customer development.
- Working knowledge of business and commercial loans.
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Expert analytical skills needed for loan approvals and underwriting.
- Excellent negotiation and problem resolution skills.
- Expert knowledge of loan sales and closing processes.
- Ability to interview applicants and determine creditability.
- Expert knowledge of loan structuring, credit analysis, and credit monitoring skills.
- Strong leadership and supervisory/management skills.

- This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $168,000 - $187,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience and location.
