About the role
This is responsible work providing administrative and clerical support to the commercial banking group. The position offers flexibility regarding on-site location within the Southern Market locations (Kingsport, Abingdon, Bristol, and Gate City).
Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support and assistance for all aspects of the lending and deposit process.
- Inputs customer financial information into the necessary system.
- Prepares and assists in the loan closing process as requested.
- Compiles loan files to ensure proper order and accuracy of documents, verifying all documents have been properly executed and recorded.
- Compiles and scans all commercial loan documents to the appropriate department in accordance with proper procedures.
- Assists Loan Officer with conducting daily collection efforts on past due loans.
- Focuses on overall bank relationship for customers to include deposit and loan relationships while maintaining positive and professional customer relationships.
- Maintains existing loan portfolio for Commercial Loan Officer in an administrative capacity, including managing and minimizing loan exceptions, past due loan balances, and updating loan portfolios with current loan information.
- Assists other bank managers with administrative duties as assigned.
- Performs related duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.
- Regularly refreshes knowledge of and familiarity with online, mobile, electronic, and traditional products and services.
- Practices and rehearses customer conversation and engagement skills around the entire suite of New Peoples Bank products and services.
- Demonstrates product and service knowledge to engage customers around the benefits of using them.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Degree (GED), with 3-5 years of banking experience involving lending in an administrative capacity; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Must successfully complete required training.
Skills
- Knowledge of lending policy and procedure.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to present ideas and information in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, contractors, the general public, customers, and local, state, and federal officials; ability to communicate with people from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain moderately complex files, records, and reports.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to master job-specific software and hardware components.
Pay
Salary Range: $18.50 to $24.80 per hour.
