About the role
The Commercial Banker position at Nicolet National Bank is responsible for administering and supporting the activities in Commercial Banking to achieve departmental goals and objectives. This role involves developing and maintaining commercial loan accounts, managing loan portfolios, providing feedback on business management and financial matters, and developing new business relationships.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a variety of commercial loan accounts (secured and unsecured) meeting established lending requirements and maximizing profitability while minimizing risk.
- Make decisions on loans and terms within lending limits or recommend to the Senior Lending Officer.
- Manage loan portfolio within approved terms and in accordance with bank's lending policy.
- Provide feedback to customers on business management and financial matters to enhance relationships between the customer and bank.
- Develop new business by calling on prospects and customers for commercial loans, emphasizing cross-selling of bank products and services to establish comprehensive banking relationships.
- Manage ongoing portfolio, including addressing past due accounts, collateral exceptions, renewal requests, and account management of overdrafts and collections, if necessary.
- Collect and analyze information reflecting the current financial position of customers and prospects, leading to a recommendation of credit structure and, if appropriate, closing the credit relationship.
- Direct and manage administrative staff.
- Stay informed about new regulations, policies, and procedures related to commercial lending and general economic trends.
- Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations, thereby fulfilling legal responsibilities and enhancing the quality of services provided by Nicolet.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent / Associate or Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar.
- 1-3 years of financial industry experience / 2-5 years Commercial Banking experience.
- PC, phone system, general office equipment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, specifically, the ability to effectively write a variety of correspondence and reports and to explain complex policies and procedures.
