Commercial Banker

About the role

The Commercial Banker position at Nicolet National Bank involves administering and supporting commercial banking activities to meet departmental goals and objectives. This role includes developing and maintaining commercial loan accounts, managing loan portfolios, providing financial advice, and participating in community affairs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a variety of commercial loan accounts (secured and unsecured)
• Provide maximum profitability to the bank at minimum risk
• Make decisions on loans and terms within lending limits or make recommendations to the Senior Lending Officer
• Manage portfolio within the terms approved and in conformity with bank's lending policy
• Provide feedback to customers on business management and financial matters
• Develop new business by calling on prospects and customers for commercial loans
• Manage an ongoing portfolio including past dues, collateral exceptions, renewals, and account management of overdrafts and collection activities
• Collect and analyze information reflecting the current financial position of customers and prospects
• Recommend credit structure and close credit relationships if appropriate
• Direct and manage work activity of administrative staff
• Stay updated on new regulations, policies, and procedures related to commercial lending and general economic trends
• Uphold Nicolet's philosophy and policies by maintaining appropriate controls to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Associate or Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or similar
• 1-3 years of financial industry experience
• 2-5 years Commercial Banking experience
• PC, phone system, general office equipment
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Solid judgment and decision-making skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
