About the role

This position offers an opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead a dedicated commercial lending team while actively engaging in loan production. The role involves overseeing a group of eight, including five lenders and three assistants, within a dynamic community banking environment. The candidate will navigate the complexities of commercial loans ranging from $150,000 to $500,000, managing a portfolio of $10 million to $15 million. The successful applicant will contribute to the bank’s mission of exceptional customer service and community engagement, while also facing the challenge of distinguishing the bank in a competitive market. A collaborative spirit and willingness to embrace various responsibilities will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of lenders and assistants in the commercial lending process
  • Engage in the production of commercial loans and manage a significant loan portfolio
  • Conduct planning calls and meetings to strategize loan offerings
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior underwriters and analysts
  • Monitor and manage past due loans
  • Participate in community service initiatives as part of the bank’s commitment to social responsibility

Requirements

  • 7+ years of commercial banking experience, preferably from a community banking background
  • Experience with commercial loans ranging from $150,000 to $500,000
  • Portfolio management experience of $10 million to $15 million
  • NMLS number is required
  • Proficiency in Windows-based software and basic Excel skills
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Experience in real estate lending is preferred
  • Active involvement with SPA is preferred
