Commercial Auto/GL Claims Specialist
About the role
Amerisure is seeking a Commercial GL & Auto Claims Specialist with expertise in handling complex claims involving risk transfer, subcontractors, and general contractors. This position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders on high-complexity/severity claims.
- Investigate losses, identify coverage, evaluate liability and damages, and review documents and legal pleadings.
- Develop plans to conclude claims, evaluate damages, engage in negotiations, and settle claims according to guidelines.
- Establish and maintain proper reserves for claims, and engage external resources as needed to ensure cost control.
- Determine and address contractual indemnifications and additional insured coverage issues.
- Review and interpret commercial insurance policies, communicating coverage issues verbally and in writing.
- Participate on cross-functional teams to resolve issues, design solutions, and prevent future occurrences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in insurance or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience handling general liability and/or bodily injury claims of high complexity/severity.
- Experience with contractual indemnification and additional insured coverages.
- Prior certification in Adjuster Certification (AIC) or Society of Claims Adjusters (SCLA) preferred.
- Ability to obtain relevant state licenses as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel overnight up to 10% and daily between locations.

This role can be performed on a hybrid or remote basis, with the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week for candidates living near an office location, and a remote work arrangement for those not living near an office.
