Commercial Analyst

Hybrid role – 2 days office based in Nottingham, Wakefield, or Sheffield.

About the role

NHS Supply Chain is transforming its Commercial Directorate. As a Commercial Analyst, you will report to the Commercial Manager and act as the key link between the Commercial Directorate, Corporate Finance, and the Business Performance Team, primarily supporting the Medical Technologies space.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyse, and present commercial, business, and financial data to assess commercial performance, pricing integrity, and savings.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders across directorates, provide expert guidance on commercial processes, and influence decision-making.
• Identify root causes of issues and implement process improvements to reduce errors, streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and enhance operational performance.
• Manage and enhance rebate reconciliation processes, improving accuracy, timeliness, supplier engagement, and resolution of discrepancies to maximise financial recovery.
• Support all commercial activity within the respective Category, including financial analytics, savings and sales performance management, and providing business intelligence and data governance.

Requirements

• Financial acumen and experience in financial analysis, including knowledge of financial processes and cycles.
• Experience in costing and budgeting, with the ability to work independently and guide others.
• Proficiency in financial modelling for planning and monitoring purposes, with the ability to provide technical guidance.
• Ability to manage complexity, making sense of high-volume and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems.
• Competence in analysing alternatives and recommending solutions based on benefits, costs, and overall value for stakeholders.
