Key Responsibilities
- Manage a book of middle market and large commercial insurance accounts from renewal through policy servicing.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing responsive service and building long-term relationships.
- Cook up renewals, policy changes, endorsements, certificates of insurance, audits, and other account servicing activities.
- Prepare, review, and present renewal proposals and coverage recommendations.
- Market new and renewal business to insurance carriers and negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and coverage enhancements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners and underwriters.
- Prepare comprehensive marketing submissions, including underwriting narratives, exposure information, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate closely with producers to develop account strategies and identify opportunities to strengthen client insurance programs.
- Analyze carrier quotations and provide coverage comparisons and recommendations.
- Stay current on carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, market conditions, and emerging commercial insurance products.
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation within the agency management system.
- Ensure all client service and marketing activities are completed accurately and within established timelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Insurance Account Representative, Account Manager, or similar client-facing role.
- Required: Proven commercial insurance marketing experience, including marketing new and renewal business directly to insurance carriers.
- Demonstrated experience handling Real Estate, healthcare, or Construction accounts within the Middle Market and Large Account segment.
- Experience working directly with underwriters to negotiate pricing, coverage, and program structure.
- Strong knowledge of commercial property, general liability, umbrella, workers' compensation, professional liability, and other commercial insurance products.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Applied Epic
- Active Property & Casualty License required or preferred, depending on state requirements.
- Experience working with national and regional insurance carriers.
- Knowledge of complex commercial placements and alternative risk solutions.
- Professional designations such as CISR, CIC, CRM, or CPCU are a plus.
