Commercial Account Executive

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through proactive communication and service excellence.
  • Conduct regular account reviews, renewals, and coverage assessments to ensure adequate protection.
  • Manage all aspects of the client lifecycle, including policy changes, certificates of insurance, endorsements, audits, cancellations, and reinstatements.
  • Prepare, market, and present renewal proposals and new business submissions.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist clients with claims reporting and follow-through, partnering with carriers as necessary.
  • Evaluate client exposures and gather information needed for quoting and underwriting.
  • Prepare submissions and negotiate terms, pricing, and coverage with carriers.
  • Maintain strong carrier relationships to optimize placement strategies and client outcomes.
  • Ensure all client files are maintained in compliance with agency standards, industry regulations, and E&O protocols.
  • Document all client interactions and transactions accurately in the agency management system.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Support producers in securing new business and meeting agency growth goals.
  • Maintain high retention levels by delivering exceptional service and strategic insurance solutions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of commercial lines insurance experience (agency or carrier), preferred.
  • Active Property & Casualty license required.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, terminology, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Excellent communication, client service, and relationship-building skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems (e.g., Applied Epic, AMS360, Vertafore) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
