The Opportunity: Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As an experienced cloud computing infrastructure architect, you know how to take advantage of cloud capabilities. Here, you’ll oversee our team of experienced professionals and use cutting-edge enterprise cloud platforms to guide your clients as they modernize their IT infrastructure and meet their most challenging missions. We’re looking for someone like you to help modernize our solution so the warfighters stay safe.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of experienced professionals in designing, deploying, and maintaining mission-critical C2 platforms and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with fellow cloud architects and engineers specializing in GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD or Flux to design, deploy, and harden the containerized foundation beneath next-generation C2 systems.
  • Use products like Kubernetes to create and manage container apps and further the mission.
  • Explore different ways of solving clients’ problems and partner with stakeholders to deliver the right technical solutions.
  • Translate mission and reliability requirements into resilient, automated platform designs.
  • Obtain a Secret clearance.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, including technical leadership on production systems.
  • Experience operating Kubernetes at production scale, including cluster deployment, day-2 operations, upgrades, and security hardening.
  • Experience with CI/CD and GitOps pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, and ArgoCD or Flux.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience implementing and operating an observability stack such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK or OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience designing and deploying systems in secure, air-gapped, or DDIL environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technology field, or 6+ years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining mission-critical C2 platforms and infrastructure in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II Security+ CE certification.

Skills

  • Experience with service mesh technologies, such as Istio, Linkerd, or Consul, for traffic management, mTLS, and observability.
  • Experience deploying and sustaining containerized platforms in DoD environments such as Platform One, Big Bang, or Iron Bank.
  • Experience engineering for the tactical edge and hardening deployments for DDIL and disconnected operations.
  • Experience with C2, ISR, or other mission-critical DoD systems and their operational constraints.
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including container scanning, policy enforcement, such as OPA, Gatekeeper, or Kyverno, and STIG compliance.
  • Experience with secrets management and zero-trust patterns such as HashiCorp Vault or SPIFFE/SPIRE.
  • Achieving and maintaining an Authority to Operate (ATO), continuous ATO, or RMF accreditation.
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent cloud certification.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $112,900.00 to $257,000.00 (annualized USD).

Remote: If this position is listed as remote, there may still be occasions when you are required to work in person at a Booz Allen or customer facility. You may also be required to work from or visit a customer facility. Onsite: If this position is listed as onsite, work will primarily be performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, where employees will collaborate directly with colleagues and customers as required by the role.
