Combination Welder A- 1st Shift
About the role
Works from prints, specifications, sketches, process sheets, engineers' instructions and written and /or oral instructions to perform various welding, brazing and soldering operations to meet both Company and military specifications.
Selects or uses specified welding equipment making any necessary setups and adjustments.
Selects required filler materials for the proper fusion of various metals and alloys.
Determines sequence of welding operations utilizing extensive knowledge of welding heat effects in order to avoid distortion and maintain required close tolerances.
Performs welding on a wide range of Company products.
Pre-heats and post-heats materials when required.
Utilizes tensile testing equipment to perform required pull tests prior to resistance welding.
Performs all types of brazing using such equipment as gas torches, induction brazers and vacuum brazing furnaces and using appropriate fillers and fluxes.
Performs soft soldering operations using such equipment as soldering iron, ultrasonic solderer and gas torches.
Performs any repair or rework on purchased and shop items involving the same level of skills required for the above duties.
Maintains records, moves materials and follows safety rules in performance of duties.
Performs other similar duties as required or directed.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years production experience with a primary responsibility in fusion welding complex weldments requiring various positions/processes (GMAW and GTAW) of multiple alloys where there is inspection to a Common Industry Standard (AWS, ASME, MIL or ISO).
- Acceptable proof of current or prior welding certification to a Common Industry Standard (AWS, ASME, MIL or ISO).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years production experience with a primary responsibility in fusion welding complex weldments requiring various positions/processes (GMAW and GTAW) of multiple alloys where there is inspection to a Common Industry Standard (AWS, ASME, MIL or ISO).
- Acceptable proof of current or prior welding certification to a Common Industry Standard (AWS, ASME, MIL or ISO).
