Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding using multiple processes, including GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG
- 6G welding as required by project specifications
- Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping materials as required
- Fit and fabricate piping systems, supports, and related components
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, spool sheets, and welding symbols
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, beveling, and fitting as needed
- Perform work in accordance with project specifications, code requirements, and company standards
- Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a safe and organized manner
- Follow all IMCOR safety policies and jobsite requirements
- Work with foremen, superintendents, and other trades to complete work efficiently and professionally
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Combo Welder in commercial, industrial, or mechanical construction
- Experience with GMAW, SMAW, GTAW/TIG, and STIC welding
- Experience welding pipe is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of welding procedures, materials, and safety practices
- Ability to read blueprints, isometric drawings, and welding symbols
- Must have reliable transportation
- Able to pass weld tests as required by project specifications
- Able to work in varying jobsite conditions, including standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and working outdoors as needed
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
- Current welding certifications are a plus
- Preferred Experience: Mechanical piping systems, Process piping, Carbon steel and stainless steel welding, 6G welding - Pass Pipe Test, GTAW/TIG welding, GMAW and SMAW welding, Fabrication shop and field welding experience, Working on commercial or industrial construction projects
