Combat Systems Engineer
About the role
In the Distributed Tactical Awareness and Decision-Making Group, we work to solve command and control challenges related to sensor and weapon integration, information fusion, and distributed kill chains. We are seeking a detail-oriented systems engineer to integrate and network advanced weapons with sophisticated sensor systems into existing and in-development combat systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop new concepts for anti-air warfare, surface warfare, and precision strike
- Solve complex systems-of-systems integration challenges for U.S. Navy surface combatants and unmanned surface vehicles
- Develop deep expertise on command-and-control systems such as the Aegis and Zumwalt combat systems
- Conduct analysis of data flows, software logic, interfaces, and mission engineering to develop new capabilities
- Conduct MS&A studies to compare alternatives to inform design
- Generate systems engineering products such as performance specifications, requirements, trade study reports, concepts of operation, concepts of employment, and test plans
- Prepare for and participate in technical interchange meetings, providing technical insight to contractor, government agency, and research laboratory partners
Qualifications
- Have a B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math or equivalent field
- Have 3+ years of experience in engineering, technical analysis, or systems integration
- Have experience in AAW, BMD, SuW, or precision strike
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
- Willing to travel up to 10% of the time, as needed
- Able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret level clearance
