Colorado Springs Water Lead
About the role
The Colorado Springs Water Lead at HDR will oversee the water, wastewater, and water resources group in the Colorado Springs office, supporting the Water Business Group. This role involves developing new clients, managing projects, and ensuring compliance with QA/QC requirements.
Responsibilities
- Establishing and growing client relations with specific sales/bookings goals.
- Collaborating across all business groups to increase hit and capture rates of opportunities.
- Maintaining utilization through active involvement in projects, including serving as project principal, quality or technical lead, project manager, or other roles as appropriate.
- Serving as a mentor for team members and supervising project staff.
- Working directly with the Water Business Group Manager, Area Manager, Project Accountant, or Company Controller for project reviews.
- Managing project staff and overseeing production and coordination on concurrent projects, especially for large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with high technical complexity.
- Functioning as the Project Manager on some projects, ensuring compliance with all internal and contractual requirements, QA/QC program compliance, budget and schedule monitoring, and client service management.
- Leading and managing multidiscipline teams, including planning, directing, and monitoring large multi-discipline projects or medium-sized projects with potentially high technical complexity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in water, wastewater, and water resources projects, including at least 5 years of direct project engineering experience and 10 years of municipal project management, engineering budgets, and project team management.
- Experience with staff management and development of multidiscipline teams.
- Effective communication and listening skills.
- Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and work experience in, the Colorado Springs/Pueblo market.
Qualifications
- MS preferred.
- Professional Engineer registration in Colorado.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. For Colorado, the range is $102,600.00 - $189,540.00.
