About the role
Color Mixer Specialists tint and mix paint to customer specification. They work closely with wholesale and retail customers to determine their needs, answer questions about Sherwin-Williams products, and recommend solutions. Specialists stay up-to-date with product features and maintain the high quality and visual standards of the products and store. The role involves achieving excellent customer service while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.
Job duties include contact with customers (which may include minors), handling cash and other payment methods, accessing electronic equipment and personal information, and managing store merchandise. A review of criminal history is required for this position to protect the business, its operations, reputation, and the safety of customers, staff, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Prepare customers' paint orders quickly and accurately
- Tint and mix products to customer specifications
- Prepare drawdowns for submittal to customers
- Clean, fill, and repair equipment as needed
- Maintain precise work order files and formulas
- Pull appropriate products from the sales floor or warehouse
- Stock shelves and set up displays
- Clean store equipment
- Load and unload delivery trucks
- Assist in making deliveries as needed
- Assist customers in person and over the phone by determining needs and presenting appropriate products and services
- Process sales transactions accurately and consistent with policies and procedures
- Maintain in-stock and presentable condition of assigned areas
- Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
- Comply with inventory control procedures
- Suggest ways to improve sales
Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have received at least a “meets expectations” (3) rating on the most recent performance appraisal
- If internal to Sherwin-Williams, must have completed all HR Cloud eLearning courses required for your current position
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid, unrestricted Driver’s License
- High School diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of experience working in a delivery, retail, or customer service position
- Previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
- Previous work experience operating tinting and mixing equipment
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
