  • Develop innovative, market-ready color strategies that address specific consumer needs and category trends.
  • Research color, design, lifestyle, and market trends to inform product direction from initial briefing through sampling.
  • Partner with leadership to define seasonal color merchandising strategies and narratives, contributing to bi-annual preparations.
  • Apply a deep understanding of the target consumer – their habits, culture, and relationship with the brand – to every color decision.
  • Monitor competitor products, retail trends, and emerging aesthetics to ensure the product line remains relevant and differentiated.
  • Clearly communicate color direction internally, producing presentation materials that connect color strategy to consumer insights, product concepts, and creative vision.
  • Present seasonal category-specific color direction to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the broader creative organization by mentoring junior designers and sharing expertise in materials, special effects, technical execution, and presentation tools.
  • Continuously develop your craft and expand your knowledge of the business.

Requirements

  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working in fast-paced fashion or lifestyle product environments.
  • Strong knowledge of color achievability and execution across a variety of substrates and materials.
  • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting business priorities.
  • Familiarity with full-product execution workflows in an apparel or footwear context.

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of textiles and materials.
  • Footwear color design experience.
  • Experience with technical design or uploading to product development platforms.
  • Background working at a startup or direct-to-consumer fashion brand.
  • Experience navigating both large corporate brand structures and leaner, faster creative environments.
