About the Role

Aquent is partnering with a globally recognized, high-profile brand known for its innovation and significant cultural impact. This organization stands at the forefront of its industry, consistently pushing boundaries in design and consumer experience. Joining this team means contributing to a legacy of excellence and shaping the future of consumer products on a global scale.

We are seeking a talented Senior Color Designer to join a dynamic, innovation-driven creative team, where your vision will bring color to life across a diverse range of categories and consumer segments. This is an unparalleled opportunity to blend structured design processes with creative agility, making a tangible impact on products that resonate with millions. If you are passionate about the intersection of fashion, product, and storytelling, and eager to influence product direction from concept to execution, this role offers the perfect platform for your expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute seasonal color designs for a designated category or division, ensuring visual appeal and commercial viability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product marketing, development, and materials teams to create cohesive color solutions.
  • Manage the color calendar, oversee timelines, review samples, and drive final confirmation of all changes through to execution.
  • Develop innovative, market-ready color strategies that speak to specific consumer needs and category trends.
  • Research color, design, lifestyle, and market trends to inform product direction from initial briefing through sampling.
  • Partner with leadership to define seasonal color merchandising strategies and narratives, contributing to bi-annual committee preparations.
  • Apply a deep understanding of the target consumer – their habits, culture, and relationship with the brand – to every color decision.
  • Monitor competitor products, retail trends, and emerging aesthetics to ensure the product line remains relevant and differentiated.
  • Clearly communicate color direction internally, producing presentation materials that connect color strategy to consumer insights, product concepts, and creative vision.
  • Present seasonal category-specific color direction to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the broader creative organization by mentoring junior designers and sharing expertise in materials, special effects, technical execution, and presentation tools.
  • Continuously develop your craft and expand your knowledge of the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant color design experience (or equivalent education/experience combination).
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience working in fast-paced fashion or lifestyle product environments.
  • Strong knowledge of color achievability and execution across a variety of substrates and materials.
  • Process-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting business priorities.
  • Familiarity with full-product execution workflows in an apparel or footwear context.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of textiles and materials.
  • Footwear color design experience.
  • Experience with technical design or uploading to product development platforms.
  • Background working at a startup or direct-to-consumer fashion brand.
  • Experience navigating both large corporate brand structures and leaner, faster creative environments.
