FLSA: Non-exempt | Department: Store Operations | Reports to: Store Manager, Training Store Manager

About the Role

The Certified Color Consultant is our steward to the industry, demonstrating our dominance in all things hair color. The role maximizes sales by creating increased customer retention and loyalty, building lasting relationships with DIY enthusiasts, and driving behaviors that grow brand awareness and hair color market share.

Responsibilities

• Brand (40%):
  • Provide an optimal customer experience and create customer retention by utilizing selling behaviors, company sales directives, and omni-channel strategies.
  • Ensure all customer transactions are complete and accurate to drive incremental sales.
  • Deliver behaviors consistent with driving desired client survey scores and reviews.
  • Determine customer color and care-related needs, offering professional advice and recommendations to ensure confidence and product success.
  • Assist the team in meeting or exceeding specific hair color sales goals as outlined by the company.
  • Generate cross-category sales by introducing new categories to each conversation, increasing sales and profitability through brand awareness.
• Operations (25%):
  • Record all sales in the POS and handle monetary transactions (sales, returns, exchanges) accurately and efficiently.
  • Complete daily paperwork, reporting, and bank deposits as needed.
  • Price merchandise, process back stock, assist with shipment processing, and perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning.
  • Support planogram updates as needed.
  • May open and close the store.
  • Establish technical expertise in products, policies, and programs.
  • Complete all training programs as directed and stay current on industry trends through continuous learning.
• People (25%):
  • Collaborate with customers and co-workers to meet store and customer needs, including maintaining good attendance.
  • Assist the Store Manager with onboarding and training new associates.
  • Mentor other associates to elevate hair color knowledge.
  • Advocate for diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
• Safety/Loss Prevention (10%):
  • Comply with all safety and loss prevention policies.
  • Follow inventory control procedures and hazardous material guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• 1+ year of retail sales/customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with customers, co-workers, and management.
• Must be available to meet the scheduling needs of the business.
• Ability to execute product knowledge from training to support customer service.
• Ability to explain product labels.
• Can follow direction and perform other duties as assigned by the Manager.
• Comprehensive knowledge of iPad, internet navigation, and social media platforms.
• Ability to present a professional image and interact positively with the public.

Pay

Between $13.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on experience.
