Colonie NY 12205 - Onsite Nurse Assessor - 1099 (RN) Contract $125 Per Assessment

About the role

Join our growing network of nurse assessors! The Helper Bees partners with insurance carriers and health plans to provide quality care and the right tools to keep older adults independent, healthy, and at home longer. This per‑diem, independent contractor (1099) position allows you to earn supplemental income by completing face‑to‑face cognitive and functional assessments in claimants’ homes. You will need a portable computer with Windows or a tablet with a camera and reliable internet for submitting assessments.

Responsibilities

• Complete in‑depth cognitive and functional assessments with clients in their homes.
• Perform structured assessments with an emphasis on accuracy and efficiency.
• Observe and report the current status of each individual objectively.
• Coordinate all scheduling with the client or their point of contact using provided contact information.
• Submit each assessment within 24 hours through an online application.
• Respond to any clarification requests from the review team within 48 hours; an assessment is not considered complete until all clarifications are answered.

Requirements

• Friendly, compassionate, dedicated, and patient personality.
• Prompt and thoughtful communication skills.
• Quick learner of technology with current proficiency using computers.
• Previous quality‑assurance or chart audit/review experience.
• 5 + years experience as a Registered Nurse, with familiarity with a broad range of medications and conditions common in the geriatric population (current RN license required).
• Reliable internet access for submitting assessments.
• Portable computer with Windows or tablet with camera.

Pay

$125 per assessment within a 35‑mile radius, paid upon completion of each assessment.
