About the role
Clinic, endoscopy lab and surgery rotation with flexibility.
1:4 CRS call rotation, no general surgery call obligations.
Opportunity for clinical and basic science research, resident teaching, and academic affiliation.
Responsibilities
- Treat clinical patients to meet their medical needs.
- Interview, examine, and treat patients.
- Provide materials and resources for patients and families on wellness, prevention, and early detection.
- Determine referrals and level of urgency for follow-up and appointments.
- Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs.
- Order studies, tests, and ancillary services.
- Document services in patient medical records.
- Review long-term cases and consult with Medical Director and other professionals.
- Oversee mid-level medical staff and assist in resolving complaints.
Requirements
- Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience.
- Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.
- DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
- Maintain medical staff privileges requirements.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate and attend to a personal computer or CRT for 40-70% of the time.
Qualifications
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
- Exercises final medical judgment in health care matters.
- Performs in a tactful and professional manner.
- Works in positions producing high levels of mental/visual fatigue.
- Lifts light-weight objects (20 pounds or less).
- Assists with heavier tasks such as moving patients.
Skills
