Essential Duties
- Assist at reception desk, greeting students, faculty and staff entering office
- Assists staff in the day-to-day functions of the Office.
- Provides support on various projects and assignments as needed.
- Provides general office support including but not limited to filing, faxing, photocopying, and Data entry.
- Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards.
Lab Assistant Responsibilities
- Prepare solutions and buffers for Bio 121 and 114.
- Preparing media for Bio 223.
- Decontaminating Biohazardous material.
- Organizing and maintaining anatomical models.
- Clean and organize all classrooms and prep areas.
Qualifications
- Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be 16 years or older, have work permit consent, and eligible to work in the United States.
- Must be actively attending one of the City Colleges of Chicago.
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit semester hours.
- Must be pursuing an approved educational credential, degree, or certificate.
- Must have and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA (waived for first semester new students).
- Must be in “good standing” – no City Colleges of Chicago academic restrictions.
- Must not be current Full or Part-time employees of the City Colleges of Chicago.
- All positions are “employment at-will”.
- Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma required or actively pursuing a GED at the City Colleges of Chicago. Knowledge of City Colleges of Chicago. Excellent oral communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Promotes a positive role model and favorable public image as City Colleges of Chicago representative. Adheres to the City Colleges of Chicago Customer Services Excellence Standards.
- The candidate must be enrolled in Bio 121, Chemistry 121, 201.
Pay
Salary Range: $17.00 or $19.00/hr. Offered rate will be determined based on whether assigned location is on campus or off campus.
