College Student Worker

About the role

A College Student Worker assists regular employees in the more routine aspects of their jobs and carries out specific assignments under supervision. Duties may vary from routine clerical assignments in an office setting to manual labor assignments in departments involved in maintaining parks, beaches, roads, etc.

Responsibilities

• Performs data entry.
• SHELVES books.
• FILLS materials and pulls material from established files.
• OPENs and SORTS mail.
• DELIVERS mail and supplies.
• PROOFREADS written material.
• ASSISTS with RESEARCH.
• OPERATES office equipment and machines.
• ASSISTS with COLLECTION and ANALYSIS of statistical data.
• AUXILIARIES with the PREPARATION and PRESENTATION of oral and/or WRITTEN reports.
• PERFORMS other RELATED duties as assigned.

Requirements

• EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Student Worker III - No experience is required. Students must provide proof that they are enrolled in at least nine (9) units of academic/technical college/university courses at the undergraduate level OR at least six (6) units at the graduate level.
• APPLYING: Proof of academic/technical college/university class enrollment is required. Methods of submission include attaching a copy of the enrollment to the online application, mailing/dropping off proof within five (5) business days, or stating that no proof is available.

Qualifications

• LEVEL OF PROFICIENCY WITH SOFTWARE: Choose from NONE, BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, or ADVANCED based on your proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• WORK SESSIONS: Indicate which school sessions you are willing to work (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter).
• SCHEDULES: Select the times you are willing and able to work (any time between 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., or 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
• CLERICAL/CLERICAL SKILLS: Describe your overall clerical/office experience and skill level.
• OTHER SKILLS: List any other special skills, education, or experience that might relate to this position.
