College Recruitment Advisor

About the role

Are you passionate about guiding the next generation towards their dreams? As a College Recruitment Advisor, you'll play a pivotal role in helping high school students navigate the exciting journey of researching, applying to, and enrolling in colleges that will shape their futures.

The position begins with a training period of approximately three to four weeks, after which employees will be assigned to a specific high school. Employment is contingent on funding and acceptance by the program manager, with the possibility of renewing the contract for one additional term.

Responsibilities

The College Recruitment Advisor will provide one-on-one admissions and financial-aid advice, develop comprehensive college timelines, and assist students with applications and interpreting correspondence from colleges.

• Advising: Provides one-on-one admissions and financial-aid advice to students and families, and encourages consideration of a broad range of college choices.
• Coordinating: Organizes group events to encourage students and families to consider, plan for, and apply to colleges and universities.
• Assisting: Assists other Advise TX advisers, helps organize events, and provides support for program activities.
• Partnerships: Establishes working relationships with principals, counselors, and teachers, and assesses the needs of each school to adapt programs and activities.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree from an institution in the state of Texas. Preferred: Experience working with high school students, admissions, and/or financial aid, and bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Ability to relate well with high school students and work as a regional/off-site team member.
• Excellent customer service orientation, positive attitude, and ability to work in a detail-oriented environment.
• Ability to make decisions independently, work urgently on multiple tasks, and possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

Pay

$16.39/Hourly (Non-negotiable).

Schedule

Ability to coordinate and attend events and meetings at times beyond usual working hours, with a standard schedule to be determined.
