College/Division Senior Human Resources Officer
Job Description
The role involves collaborating with Perimeter College and University Human Resources to update and improve HR processes and procedures. It also includes leading change management initiatives, managing, leading, supervising, and training HR staff, overseeing the HR unit budget, assisting with faculty recruitment, ensuring compliance with regulations, creating and reclassifying positions, leading organizational development and training initiatives, overseeing staff performance management, coordinating personnel budget and position management, maintaining personnel records, providing HR reporting and analysis, handling employee relations, advising college leadership on HR matters, serving as liaison with University HR, faculty affairs, and legal affairs, and performing other related duties as necessary.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, organizational psychology, HR management, or related field
- Seven years direct experience managing and developing teams of HR professionals
- Knowledge of federal and state employment law, and higher education policy and regulations relative to Human Resources
- Experience utilizing HR information systems to initiate actions and data extraction
- Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft/Workday Financials and HR, or similar robust HRIS systems
- Demonstrated excellence with organizational development, interpersonal, leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and engage in responsible decision-making utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent, demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to present to all organizational levels and group sizes
- Ability to multi-task, adapt, plan, prioritize, and establish goals
Preferred Hiring Qualifications
- Related HR experience in a university/higher-education setting preferred
- Master’s degree in Human resources or related field
- SPHR-SC, SHRM-CP or similar certification
Location & Schedule
The position is located on the Decatur campus and requires occasional travel to other campuses as needed. The shift is from 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM.
Salary
$100,400 - $130,600 FLSA Status: Exempt
