College Access Specialist
Granite Edvance (formerly the New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation) is located in Concord, NH. We help New Hampshire students plan for their future—whether continuing education, pursuing the trades, or entering the workforce—by providing free counseling, resources, scholarships, and private student loans. In 2025, we will award $750,000 in scholarships to NH college students.
About the role
As a College Access Specialist, you will serve as a subject matter expert on Granite Edvance's college access programs and services. You will conduct one-on-one consultations, provide resources and individualized guidance, and deliver presentations to stakeholders on topics related to college access. Regular travel within New Hampshire is required, with occasional travel outside the state.
You will support students navigating education and career planning, including career assessments, financial aid planning, FAFSA support, and college success, while sharing information about Granite Edvance's products and services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one consultations with students to provide college access guidance.
- Deliver presentations to stakeholders on college access topics.
- Support students in career assessments, financial aid planning, FAFSA completion, and college success strategies.
- Travel extensively (up to 80%) to schools, partners, conferences, and meetings within and occasionally outside New Hampshire.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings (up to 3-4 nights per week), based on business needs.
Requirements
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across diverse backgrounds.
- Expertise in college admissions, preparation, or school counseling.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in college admissions or school counseling.
- Strong presentation and public-speaking skills for groups of all sizes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a frequently changing environment with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work between 8 AM and 8 PM, including evenings as needed.
- Ability to travel extensively (up to 80%) within and occasionally outside New Hampshire.

Schedule
- Full-time hybrid position, requiring in-person work at the Concord office a minimum of two days per week.
- Additional on-site work may be required for onboarding, training, or business needs.
