Collector Reimbursement Specialist

Responsibilities

• Processes Explanation of Benefits and denials according to contract specifications.
• Makes collection calls to responsible parties.
• Provides customer service to patients, insurance companies, and centers.
• Safeguards accuracy of account balance according to Managed Care contracts.
• Codifies questions regarding coding with appropriate coding representatives.
• Identifies encounters that are ready for bad debt placement.
• Reviews patient accounts for accuracy and completeness.
• Communicates with patients and insurance companies to resolve account issues.
• Presents and submits appeals for denied claims.
• Maintains detailed records of all account activities.
• Monitors and reports on account status and progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Perform basic math functions.
• Capable of communicating professionally with an acceptable use of English and spelling.
• Aptitude for strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work with people of various backgrounds.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 & CPT coding (preferred).

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv.

Benefits

Commensurate with experience.

Pay

$15.69 - $25.10 per hour.
