Collector - Patient Accounting

Responsibilities

• Follows up on insurance balances or self-pay accounts to ensure timely payment.
• Communicates effectively with clients and staff members via phone and in person.
• Maintains productivity standards and reports progress.
• Obtains and updates necessary demographic and patient information.
• Inputs follow-up notes and retrieves patient and collection information using a computer.
• Writes effective appeals to insurance companies.

Qualifications

• Experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $23.00 to $26.25. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
