About the role
The Collections Support Specialist provides crucial support to Premium Accounting and Collections by performing tasks related to the premium deposit process, including batching and keying deposits, while also assisting with collection activities. This role requires strong organizational, customer service, and computer skills to handle sensitive financial information and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the collection process by creating and maintaining client credit history files and managing accounts to ensure timely payments.
- Document collection activities, create reports, and maintain accurate records using computer systems and databases.
- Batch and key deposits as part of the deposit processing workflow.
- Prepare and process collection correspondence and assist with collection reporting and account referrals.
- Provide premium accounting administrative support, including keying policy transactions, printing and electronically filing daily bank statements and reports, and processing miscellaneous billing transactions.
- Handle telephone calls, email correspondence, and communication with insureds, agents, and collection agencies.
- Provide back-up support for other Premium Accounting positions as necessary.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree preferred or equivalent work-related experience.
- Prior administrative, accounting support, or collections experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access).
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and negotiation skills.
- Professional approach to handling sensitive financial information.
Schedule
Hybrid work schedule requiring two full days per week in the office, with flexibility to work remotely or onsite the remaining days.
Pay
Competitive pay scale with an estimated salary range of $20.00 - $26.00 hourly, based on leveling and geography. Includes an equity component.
