Collections Specialist - Revenue Cycle Management

Position Overview

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review claims with outstanding balances and identify actions to collect revenues.
• Follow up with insurers and patients to collect outstanding balances.
• Utilize Payer Portals for claim disposition.
• Identify reasons for denials, take corrective action, and resolve claims.
• Analyze denials and recommend process improvements.
• Submit appeals for denied claims based on payor requirements.
• Communicate with franchise partners and other VCI departments regarding collections.
• Document case activity and communicate billing problems.
• Contribute to training and knowledge transfer programs.
• Assist with online adjudication of collection issues.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Excellent communication skills.
• Understanding of billing and collection processes.
• Ability to identify and solve problems.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and pharmacy applications.
• Ability to work independently and remotely.

Education and Experience

• 2-5 years home infusion billing and/or collections experience.
• High School Diploma with additional specialized training.
• Previous remote work experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with investigative experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting.
• Keyboarding: Frequent use of a keyboard.
• Reaching: Occasional reaching for items.
• Fine Motor Skills: Precise movements of the fingers and hands.
• Visual Acuity: Good vision for reading documents and computer screens.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $18.92-$23.46/hr.
