Collections Specialist - Onsite Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and process payments under established department guidelines.
• Accurately assess the consumer’s financial condition through thorough inquiries.
• Determine the reason for delinquency and find creative solutions to resolve the situation.
• Track and maintain all customer accounts throughout the collection process, ensuring prompt payment recovery for all outstanding balances.
• Perform customer account maintenance activities, including account reviews, reconciling aging levels, verifying account balances, applying payments, monitoring collection activities, and updating accounts in compliance with established corporate policies and procedures.
• Adhere to State and Federal regulations pertaining to collection activities.
• Maintain call quality assurance and structure meeting corporate standards.

Qualifications

• Outgoing, assertive, competitive, persuasive.
• Enjoys dealing with the public.
• Possesses or is capable of acquiring superb negotiation skills.
• Is detail oriented and able to accurately document information in our computer system while communicating with the consumer on the telephone.
• Able to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends.
• Must have a high school diploma, some college preferred.
