Collections Specialist

About the role

Basis is seeking a Collections Associate to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Manager, Collections, this role involves processing outstanding account receivables, managing DSO, and providing backup assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage outstanding account receivables
• Research payment issues and perform monthly account reconciliations
• Contribute to collections outreach for a portfolio of at least $40M
• Document all collections efforts in Basis' financial system, Netsuite
• Review customers' financial position and credit-worthiness
• Proactively engage in reviewing and updating policies and procedures
• Provide backup coverage as needed
• Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience
• College degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or similar
• Previous strong cash application and credit card experience
• Previous accounts receivable and collection experience
• Strong negotiating and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Excel

Benefits
