Role Overview
This full-time position involves handling high-volume calls in a healthcare billing environment, assisting patients, insurance carriers, attorneys, and practice staff with billing and collection issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries, investigate billing problems, and resolve outstanding balances.
- Initiate collection actions, negotiate payment arrangements, and update patient information.
- Process payments, refunds, and handle bankruptcy notifications.
- Provide billing statements and respond to billing inquiries via web or email.
- Perform research to update contact details and ensure accurate accounts.
Qualifications & Skills
- A High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; 2+ years in third-party billing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work full-time with flexible shifts, including occasional overtime.
- PREFERRED: experience with physician billing, ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS coding, and domestic travel.
