Collection System Manager

EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES

• Plan, develop, and implement a preventive maintenance program for the collection system
• Develop, audit, and update the Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) and act as legally responsible official (LO) for certifying SSO reports
• Assist with budget preparation
• Supervise employees, evaluate their performance, and impose discipline
• Manage insurance claims related to the collection system
• Perform other duties as assigned

  EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Any combination of education and experience, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying
  • Five years of experience in the maintenance of a sewer collection system, including at least two years of supervisory or lead experience
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in maintenance or operations
  • Computer skills highly desirable

    LICENSE, CERTIFICATION & RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS

    • Possession of a valid California driver’s license and a motor vehicle record that meets the District’s driving standards
    • Possession of, or ability to obtain within two years of appointment, a CWEA Grade IV Certificate in Collection System Maintenance
