Collection Specialist

About the Role

Cornerstone Capital Bank is seeking a Collection Specialist to provide world-class customer care. This role focuses on educating customers about hardship assistance options and ensuring exceptional service throughout the collections process.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate payment arrangements to keep borrowers in their homes and prevent loans from becoming 30+ days past-due.
• Maintain open communication with borrowers post-payment to enable early intervention and prevent future delinquencies.
• Utilize skip tracing tools to locate borrowers with inaccurate contact information.
• Manage inbound and outbound calling queues via an automated calling system.
• Continuously improve knowledge and skills to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and a world-class experience.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mortgage servicing.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Collections environment.
• Strong phone etiquette and a passion for customer service.
• Solid analytical skills with the ability to exercise prudent judgment.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills.
• Ability to work as a team player in stressful situations professionally and respectfully.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail.

Bi-lingual skills are a plus.
