Collateral Specialist II

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare discharges on paid loans within regulatory guidelines.
• Focus on the preparation of Commercial loan discharges tied to real estate.
• Review BI paid loan report to identify Commercial loans tied to real estate.
• Communicate with the Lender to obtain approval for collateral release.
• Release liens within required time frames to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Prepare partial releases as needed.
• Contribute to process improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Document and maintain procedures for applicable functions.
• Perform additional duties as required, including working overtime and Saturdays.

Qualifications/Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferably a college degree.
• Prior work experience with loan legal documentation and title rundowns.
• Para-legal experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Registry of Deeds searches on Massachusetts Land Records sites.
• Familiarity with Registry of Motor Vehicle forms and vehicle titles.
• Expertise with Consumer, Mortgage, Home Equity, and Commercial loan documents.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills, experience with MS Office and SharePoint.
• Ability to work independently and meet critical deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, focused on providing excellent internal and external customer service.

Additional Knowledge Required

• Strong knowledge of Commercial loan documents.
• Proficiency with the Commercial discharge process.
• Ability to communicate effectively with external attorneys on complex Commercial discharge requests.
