Position Overview
We are seeking a Collaborating Physician to join a clinician-led mobile practice providing consultative bedside musculoskeletal and pain management services to residents of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living communities, and inpatient rehabilitation facilities throughout the Cookeville / Upper Cumberland region.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the collaborating physician under a Tennessee Collaborative Practice Agreement for the Physician Assistant team
- Provide physician consultation and periodic chart review
- Complete approximately one hour of chart review per week per Physician Assistant
- Conduct a minimum of one on-site visit per month
- Remain available by phone or secure messaging during clinical hours for occasional consultation
- Optionally evaluate and manage your own panel of post-acute patients with musculoskeletal, pain, functional, and rehabilitative needs
- Perform or supervise bedside ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections (if appropriately trained)
- Cookordinate patient care with interdisciplinary facility teams
Qualifications
- MD or DO with an active, unrestricted Tennessee medical license (or willingness to obtain one)
- Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) or Pain Medicine
- Current DEA registration
- Medicare enrolled or eligible
Preferred Experience
Preferred experience in post-acute care, skilled nursing facilities, geriatrics, or rehabilitation medicine
Comfort Managing
Managing musculoskeletal and pain conditions in geriatric patients
Experience Performing
Experience performing ultrasound-guided musculoskeletal injections (if appropriately trained)
Compensation
- Fixed monthly collaboration stipend (based on the number of Physician Assistants supported)
- Competitive, uncapped share of collections for personally treated patients
- 1099 Independent Contractor engagement
- Malpractice contribution negotiable
