Cold Storage Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

About the role

We are seeking a full-time, non-exempt (overtime qualified) Cold Storage Forklift Operator to join our Lake Odessa Division. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the careful transfer of product to the processing floor, warehouse, and/or onto trucks or rail cars for pick-up and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Pick loads for shipments.
• Load and unload semi-trucks and rail cars.
• Slip sheet pallets when necessary.
• Manually move cases.
• Clean up messes caused by forked or dropped product.
• Perform minor repairs on pallets when necessary.
• Maintain necessary documentation.

While this list covers key duties, management reserves the right to assign other tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Experience driving a forklift.
• Good attendance record.
• Ability to work independently and stay self-motivated.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with supervisors, peers, and outside contractors.
• Logical thinking and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to follow orders and directions accurately.

Physical Requirements

• Standing: Ability to sit for most of the shift (on a forklift) and stand/walk for the remainder.
• Pace: Work pace is set by production line speed and the number of lines running, often at a quick pace.
• Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance, with lifting occurring intermittently (about 2 hours per day) at various heights (floor to shoulder level).
• Twisting: Intermittent twisting required.
• Push/Pull: Intermittent pushing and pulling of approximately 50 lbs.
