Responsibilities

  • Works all stations on the COLD LINE
  • Prepares mise-en-place for workstation on the kitchen line
  • Maintains accurate prep lists
  • Inspects and tastes all of ingredients for quality control
  • Presents excellent food for service
  • Cooks and coordinates pick-ups and plating with other cooks and Chefs
  • Communicates with Chefs and other cooks before, during and after service
  • Cleans and sanitizes work area and maintains designated cooler space
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Understanding and experience of restaurant hospitality and fine dining
  • 1-2+ years professional kitchen experience
  • Owns sharp knives and kitchen tools
  • Willingness to learn and retain knowledge
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines
  • Understanding of NYC health department codes

Work Schedule

Days and hours of work vary and are generally assigned as a 40 hour per week schedule. This position regularly requires evening and weekend work. This is a full-time (occasionally part-time), FLSA non-exempt hourly position in the Kitchen at Chelsea Market at 75 9th Avenue. LP Hospitality Group is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
