Cold Forming Header and Roll Threader Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Nedschroef and Waterbury cold forming machines and associated equipment to produce high-quality fasteners for the construction industry while maintaining on-time delivery, productivity, safety, and quality standards.
• Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or production deviations and adjusts machine as required.
• Performs machine adjustments and configurations to achieve a quality product.
• Provides recommendations to change processes to improve productivity and quality.
• Reads measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and other relevant equipment.
• Reads drawings, manuals and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products and sequences of operations.
• Performs inspection checks to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
• Identifies and replaces broken or worn tools and determines defects.
• Tracks and enters raw material data for each production lot.
• Reports raw material shortages, tool usage, and machine maintenance issues to the lead person.
• Reports to the supervisor and operations management.
• Moves materials, maintains and cleans the work area.
• Maintains a safe work environment; wears safety glasses and steel-toed shoes.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with Nedschroef or other Cold Headers in a production environment is highly desired.
• Trade School highly desired.
• Electrical skills are a plus.
• Knowledge and skills using measuring tools, calipers, and micrometers to inspect parts according to drawings.
• Experience performing quality checks and identification of part defects according to specifications.
• Read and understand engineering drawings.
• Basic computer and math skills are required.
• Forklift license desired.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Good communication skills.
• Able to work safely in a variety of situations and follow rules and established procedures.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in certain areas.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
