Cognitive Retraining Specialist

NeuroRestorative, part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord, and medically complex injuries, illnesses, and other challenges. Services are offered in various locations and community-based settings, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members, and Veterans.

About The Role

As a Cognitive Retraining Specialist, you’ll work 1-on-1 (1–3 clients per day) to help individuals build skills for greater independence at home, work, and in the community. Each day is unique, with customized support provided in client homes, community settings, or volunteer/work sites.

Responsibilities

• Teach memory strategies, planning, budgeting, and problem-solving
• Promote social and communication skills
• Support safe navigation and community engagement
• Help with study skills and vocational readiness
• Educate families and build natural support systems

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Education, Social Science, or a related field. Examples of disciplines include: education, medicine, neuropsychology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, sociology, counseling, rehabilitation science, recreation therapy, social work, special education, and speech-language pathology. Other disciplines are considered on a case-by-case basis.
• Valid driver's license (held for at least 12 months) and reliable transportation
• Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred (not required)

Training

• 2 weeks of paid training
• 5 weeks of mentorship
• Ongoing self-directed Relias trainings during initial case assignments

Schedule & Pay

• Part-time: 20–25 hours per week (full-time: 32–40 hours per week)
• Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm (no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call)
• $20/hour plus mileage reimbursement
