Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides personalized service to all guests.
  • Understands and abides by all safety protocols.
  • Willingly embraces last-minute changes in direction and unexpected changes in operational plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains positive guest relations at all times.
  • Prepares food and beverages such as fresh fruit, coffee, and juices.
  • Able to utilize equipment used for drink and food making as necessary.
  • Maintains knowledge of standard recipes (latte, cappuccino, macchiato, specialty drinks).
  • Utilizes POS according to standards as necessary.
  • Sets out and arranges cold food such as rolls, muffins, and cereal for purchase.
  • Sets up and maintains the coffee shop service area and keeps it clean and well presented.
  • Maintains safety and sanitation requirements and storage procedures.
  • Completes daily inventory of food, beverages, and supplies needed for each day.
  • Orders and/or purchases all necessary supplies.
  • Ensures that all equipment is in working order and clean; rectifies any deficiencies and reports maintenance problems to the manager.
  • Maintains the quality of all food and beverages and cleanliness of service lines.
  • Restocks food products and supplies as needed.
  • Clears and cleans tables as they are vacated throughout the shift.
  • Removes trash and cleans up spills immediately.
  • Returns unused food supplies to designated areas and stores them.
  • Completes opening and closing side duties as assigned.
  • Listens and responds to guests’ requests and complaints.
  • Provides guests with information about local area, including giving directions.
  • Reports any equipment damages, safety hazards, maintenance problems, and personnel problems to the Manager.

Requirements

  • Education/Experience: Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Food Handlers Certification (if applicable).
