Coding Specialist (remote position)

About the role

The Corporate Coding Specialist plays a crucial role in providing outstanding patient care and high-level customer service. They analyze and interpret medical records to assign correct codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 systems. The position demands a strong commitment to accuracy and adherence to regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least three (3) years of acute care, home health, physician, or ancillary coding experience
• Successfully completed a credentialed coding certificate program and holds one or more of the following credentials: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or HCS-D
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT, Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, and Evaluation and Management Documentation Guidelines
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, AHA Coding Clinic, AMA CPT Assistant, and Coding Clinic for HCPCS
• Familiarity with encoder technology, Computer Assisted Coding, abstracting systems, and electronic medical records (EMRs)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency in computer technology
• Teamwork and willingness to meet productivity and coding accuracy goals

Pay

Pay range: $24.30 - $36.16 per hour.
