Coding Review Tech I

About the role

The Coding Review Tech III is a third level role within the Coding Department of the Central Billing Office. This position plays a large role in the implementation and support of all applicable coding applications, including Epic, Solventum, Automated Coding, and any other resources.

Responsibilities

• Performs departmental coding audits
• Trains/mentors Coding Tech I’s & II’s in all coding related job functions
• Reviews clinical documentation and applies appropriate billing and diagnostic codes using accepted guidelines
• Consistently exceeds the standard levels of productivity and produces high quality audits
• Presents oneself as a team player by demonstrating and following Baptist Health beliefs, mission and values

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 Years coding experience required
• CPC certification required
• Knowledge of medical terminology with an in-depth understanding of ICD-10 CM and CPT Coding principles focusing on evaluation and management services
• Advanced knowledge of current standard billing practices as defined by AMA, as well as, the ability to interpret clinical data
• Advanced computer skills required

This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
