About the role

These jobs focus on managing the financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, payment processing, financial counseling, utilization, and revenue cycle analysis. Medical coders ensure accurate coding to support billing processes, comply with regulations, and maintain the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting purposes. This is a seasoned individual contributor role that provides assistance and training to lower-level employees, works under limited supervision for routine situations, and independently develops solutions to non-routine problems.

Responsibilities

  • Translate patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into standardized medical codes.
  • Support billing processes and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting.
  • Provide assistance and training to lower-level employees.
  • Analyze and resolve non-routine problems.
  • Explain practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with others outside the job area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of relevant coding experience required.
  • Dermatology experience preferred.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $26.00 - $40.57 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
