These jobs focus on managing the financial aspects of patient care, including billing, insurance claims, payment processing, financial counseling, utilization, and revenue cycle analysis. Medical coders ensure accurate coding to support billing processes, comply with regulations, and maintain the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting purposes by translating patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into standardized medical codes.

About the Role

Seasoned individual contributor role providing support in direct service, operational, technical, or administrative functions. Works under limited supervision for routine situations, assists and trains lower-level employees, and develops solutions to non-routine problems. Explains practices, procedures, and policies to reach agreement with others outside the job area.

Responsibilities

  • Translate patient diagnoses, treatments, and procedures into standardized medical codes.
  • Ensure accurate coding to support billing processes and comply with regulations.
  • Maintain the integrity of patient health records for reimbursement and reporting.
  • Provide assistance and training to lower-level employees.
  • Analyze and resolve non-routine problems with minor adjustments to working methods.
  • Communicate practices, procedures, and policies to others outside the job area.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of relevant coding experience required.
  • Neurosurgery experience preferred.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.

Physical Demands

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. Occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $26.00 - $40.57 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
