About the role
Under general supervision, this position provides a variety of administrative and clerical support for Coding Operations, including word processing, data entry, record keeping, report preparation, chart review for provider assignment, and related tasks.
Responsibilities
- Performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties to support departmental operations.
- Maintains and updates departmental record systems, enters and updates information with departmental activity and report summaries; retrieves information from systems and databases as required.
- Prepares and distributes a variety of documents to other departments, vendors, and management as requested.
- Reviews reports and completes corrections for provider assignments.
- Assists with assigned department projects and/or programs as directed by management staff; aids department staff in various operations-related projects.
- Participates in company meetings.
- Complies with all internal policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned; responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining a high concentration level with accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
- Computer keyboarding skills.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3 years of general office support experience preferred.
- Healthcare office experience preferred.
Work Environment
This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, copiers, and phones.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 20 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Pay
$17.00–$20.00 per hour.
